APC Reveals What Nigerians Did By Electing Buhari

Following the March 28 victory secured by the country’s major opposition party, the All Progressives Congress (APC), the party has revealed what Nigerians did by electing General Muhammadu Buhari as the president.

The party made the revelation in a statement issued on Tuesday in Abuja by its national publicity secretary, Lai Mohammed, a copy obtained by Premium Times.

The APC said Nigerians had made history through the ballot box by electing Buhari as their president.

Mohammed further explained that by voting into power someone not in government, Nigerians have reclaimed their power at the polls.

“I think it’s first of all victory to all Nigerians. We are all here on the verge of history. This is the first time in the political history of Nigeria that a government in power would lose an election via the ballot box. This also sends a strong message to the incoming government that the people have reclaimed their ballot. People have reclaimed their rights and they would punish any government who fails to do their expectations,” he said.

The APC’s national secretary said Buhari’s victory across the zones was due to the selflessness of the party​​ leaders, adding that the merger of various political parties was also another reason for the victory.
