Crystal Palace continued their impressive record over relegation threatened Queens Park Rangers (QPR) with an impressive 3-1 win at Selhurst Park on Saturday.
Palace wrapped up all three points with a commanding first-half performance which saw Wilfried Zaha, James McArthur and Joel Ward score for the hosts.
Matt Phillips scored a Goal of the Season contender, but it was too little too late for a London Derby.
Zaha slid in at the near post past QPR goalkeeper Robert Green from a Yannick Bolasie cross to place Palace in ascendancy in the 21st minute.
Two quick fire goals by McArthur and Ward sealed proceedings for Alan Pardew’s men, the latter collecting a Zaha pass and smashing home with the help of deflection two minutes after the former had turned in another Bolasie cross from close range.
Phillips then unleashed an incredible 40-yard dipping shot in off the crossbar with just 8 minutes left to final whistle. His goal was the longest from a distance so far this season.
The Eagles have now won all six of their Premier League meetings with Chris Ramsey’s side and are 11 points off the relegation zone. It was the first time Palace have scored three goals before the break in a league match.
QPR remain three points adrift of safety ahead of the weekend’s other fixtures.
