Reports just reaching us reveal that no fewer than three people were on Tuesday morning killed in a fire outbreak that occurred at the Ikorodu area of Lagos State.
According to PM News, the inferno started at about 6.47am after a petroleum-laden tanker belonging to Forte Oil had a brake failure while trying to climb the steep hill on Beach Road opposite the abbatoir and exploded.
It was reliably gathered that the driver of the tanker, a motorcycle rider and a yet-to-be identified commuter were burnt beyond recognition as the fire gutted the abbatoir and wreaked havoc in the area.
As at press time, it was observed that cows and goats were not spared by the raging fire that also spread to a building inside the slaughter house that serves the people of Ebute and its environs.
The entire environ was cordoned off by touts while officials of the Nigerian Fire Service were seen trying to put out the raging fire.
