Seven people were killed on Sunday after a suicide bomber on Sunday attacked a bus terminal in Damaturu, the Yobe State capital, AFP reports, citing police authorities.
“There has been an attack on the Damaturu Central Motor Park by a female suicide bomber,” Commissioner of Police, Marcos Danladi told AFP.
“So far, seven people have been confirmed dead and 32 others injured,” he added.
According to witnesses, the suicide bomber drove in and headed towards a grocery store at the extreme of the terminal before blowing herself up in the midst of the crowd. An Angry mob gathered her remains and set them on fire.
No group has claimed responsibility for the attack, but similar attacks have been carried out by Islamist sect Boko Haram in recent times. The sect wants to create an Islamist state in Nigeria and has killed over 10,000 people in its bid to actualize its plans.
