TIME Magazine Names Drs. Adadevoh, Brantly, Other Ebola Health Workers As 2014 Person Of The Year

In a decision that has been welcomed with resounding approval, popular international tabloid, Time Magazine has named health workers who helped fight the spread of Ebola virus as its 2014 Persons of the Year.

The current outbreak of the virus which was first detected in Guinea during the first quarter of 2014 has taken the lives of some seven thousand people, with most of the deaths occurring in a few West African countries especially Guinea, Sierra Leone and Liberia.

There were some cases in Senegal, Spain and the USA.

There were also a few cases in Nigeria, which was brought in by Liberian-American Patrick Sawyer and first detected at First Consultants, a medical establishment in Lagos, although the death toll in the country was encouragingly low due to the valiant effort of late Dr. Stella Adadevoh and other health workers who worked tirelessly to rid the country of the virus.

In recognition of such brave fighters, Time Magazine has written the names of health workers like Dr. Adadevoh in gold by naming them as the winners of  its person of the year award for 2014.
