What First-Class Lead University Graduate Did That Landed Him In Jail

A first-class graduate from Lead City University, Ibadan, Olakunle Akanni, has been sentenced to one-year imprisonment for fraud.

23-year-old Akanni and his accomplice, Adesina Akinsola, 30, who got similar sentence, were said to have defrauded an American woman, Diana Huizenga, of over 12,000 dollars (N1.92 million) through an internet love scam. 

The duo who are facing a two-count charge of conspiracy and obtaining money under false pretences, were sentenced by an Ikeja High Court in Lagos Yesterday, November 4, 2014.
