How Secondary Students Attacked Female Teacher With Machete In Imo State

A female teacher Mrs. Mary-Ann Oguezuonu, of Obosima Secondary Technical School, Ohaji-Egbema Local Government Area of Imo State, is currently battling to stay alive after she was attacked and brutalized by irate male students.

She was attacked because she caught a female student who changed her school uniform into a skimpy outfit and threatened the girl with a possible expulsion. According to Vanguard, just as she was cautioning the JSS2 student, a male SS1 student jumped into the classroom and rudely confronted the teacher in defense of the girl. 

“The male student, who was not satisfied with the verbal insults he heaped on the teacher, went further to grab Mrs. Oguezuonu’s blouse,” said a student. The noise attracted other teachers who dragged the boy to the staffroom and flogged him.

“While still cuddling her five-month old baby in the staff room, the irate male student mobilized others, suspected to be fellow cult members.

“They came into the staffroom, armed with cutlasses and attacked the teacher,” said a teacher.

A family member of the teacher said,

“The matter has been reported to the police and some arrests have been made, but the main suspect, Chimaobi Precious Agu, is still at large at the time of this telephone interview.”
