Daughter Of Jailed Delta Ex Governor Ibori Runs For Delta Assembly Seat

Daughter of the imprisoned ex Delta governor James Onanefe Ibori is running for seat in the state’s House of Assembly.

Erhiatake Ibori, whose father serves 13-year term over corruption charges, plans to run on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and wants to represent Ethiope West constituency.

Her move allegedly caused disaffection in Oghara, Mr. Ibori’s Oghara community.

Although the governor’s daughter started her campaign by launching a free ambulance in her constituency, this act was not warmly met by some. 

One of the critics, whose name was not disclosed, said:

“That is what her father, Chief Ibori, did. He would give the people a token and then steal big loads of public funds.”
