One suspected armed robber has been killed, while three others fled during a gun battle with policemen from Oko-Oba Police Station, Abule Egba, a suburb of Lagos State, southwest Nigeria.
P.M.NEWS gathered that the suspects around 2.45 am on Sunday, 10 August, allegedly stormed 10, Jonathan Coker Road, New Oko-Oba  for a robbery operation.

Some of the items collected by the suspects at gun point include money (both local and foreign currencies), three computer laptops, gold jewellery, four wedding rings, 10 wristwatches and a car key.

However, the operation was cut short, when the Divisional Police Officer in charge of Oko-Oba Police Station, Superintendent Akintade William, mobilized an anti-robbery team to the area after receiving a distress call about the attack.
According to SP William, when the robbers sighted the police team, they engaged them in a gun battle which led to the death of one of  the supects, while the others escaped.

A victim of the robbery attack, Joseph Fadero,  told P.M.NEWS that he was asleep when the robbers forced their way into his room and robbed him and other members of his family, including his father,  Pa David Adegboyega Fadero, of their valuables.
Items recovered from the robbery scene include a locally made cut to size double barrel shot gun, unspecified amount of money, jewellery and three mobile phones.
